Greg Hirsch

President / Landscape Firm Sales

Greg Hirsch started out working on hardscape crews as a masonry laborer and foreman during high school and college. He graduated from Loyola Academy in 1986 and Loyola University in 1990 with a degree in Business Administration. He went to work full time for a high-end hardscape contractor on the North Shore. From 1990 through 1998 he held various positions from production manager to Chief Operating Officer.

In 1998 he left and started Hirsch Brick and Stone Company. Greg has sold and supervised residential projects as large as $800,000 and has experience in all aspects of hardscape construction. He manages relationships with several North Shore Landscape Architecture and Contracting firms and is focusing on expanding Hirsch Brick and Stone’s residential sales into the geographic areas of the southwestern Chicago suburbs and into the Milwaukee and Madison, WI area.

Greg is also a Colonel in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, who has served in Iraq. He graduated from the US Army War College with a Masters of Science in Strategic Studies in 2012 and is assigned as the Commander of the 426th Regiment at Ft McCoy, WI. He serves on several community non-profit boards and is currently a board member for Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. Greg is married and lives in Libertyville.

Heath Frey

Residential / Landscape Firm Sales

Heath is the Lead Residential Sales Person for Hirsch Brick and Stone Company. He works with clients to ensure that all aspects of their projects are designed and built to theirs and his satisfaction. A 1997 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, he has received numerous awards, including an Honor award from the America Society of Landscape Architects.

He has worked in the industry and on the North Shore for over 15 years. Heath has sold and managed all types of hardscape projects from simple to large and complicated, but each one unique, detailed, and specific to the customer. Heath says, "Meeting and working with open minded, fun-loving clients to develop and build unique outdoor environments is the most rewarding aspect of this profession." He believes that, if designed and constructed to meet the customer’s needs and vision from the beginning of the project, the customer will be happy for years to come.

Heath also works with several landscape contractors and builders to maintain existing hardscapes in conjunction with their annual service contracts. Through maintaining these relationships and providing excellent service, he has been deemed the mason of choice by many local landscape contractors.

Heath lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He has two children, the eldest is a graduate of The University of Minnesota and the younger is currently attending The University of Wisconsin. Golfing and gardening are his favorite warm weather activities. Reading, travel, and the upkeep and rehabilitation of his 110 year old home keep him busy in the winter months.

Eric Doty

Production Manager

Eric Doty is the Construction Manager for Hirsch Brick and Stone. He manages all aspects of construction including design implementation, personnel supervision, and material acquisition. Eric received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arkansas and has been a licensed Landscape Architect since 1991.

Prior to joining Hirsch Brick & Stone in 2000, he was employed for over 10 years by a large landscape contractor in the Chicago area designing landscapes for both residential and commercial clients. During this time, he also managed the construction of a multimillion dollar community development overseeing both hardscape and landscape elements. For his efforts, he received the Environmental Improvement Grand Award from the Associated Landscape Contractors of America in 1999. With over 20 years of design and construction experience, Eric brings a unique perspective and ability to the field of landscape construction to bring the visions of landscape architects and clients to reality.

Eric is an avid gardener and enjoys living in Powers Lake, Wisconsin with his wife and their two very active children.

Mary Dunsworth

Office Manager

Mary Dunsworth supervises all administrative activities of Hirsch Brick and Stone. She joined the company in 2003 and is the point of contact for accounts receivable, contracts, and waivers. She graduated from The University of Wisconsin – Parkside with a degree in English.

She is married and lives in Lindenhurst with her three children. She enjoys gardening, spending time with family, and volunteering for local charity events. Mary is the heartbeat of Hirsch Brick and Stone's day to day office operations. She brings a warming smile and positive attitude to all she does.

Conner Hirsch

Assistant Maintenance Manager / Safety Coordinator

Conner Hirsch is an assistant manager for maintenance crews and the head of safety at Hirsch Brick and Stone. He joined the company in the spring of 2017 and gained experience out in the field. In the beginning of 2018 he redeveloped the safety programs within the company as well as helped manage the maintenance crews for Hirsch Brick and Stone. He graduated from St. Norbert College in Green Bay with a B.A. in Communication in Media, and a Leadership Minor.

He currently lives in Libertyville and enjoys many outdoor activities.

Andrew Middendorf

Lead Estimator

Andrew Middendorf is the lead estimator at Hirsch Brick and Stone. He graduated from Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa in 2010 and is currently in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Andrew coordinates with landscape firms, material suppliers, and the rest of the Hirsch team to ensure accurate and fair pricing on all projects, large or small.

He currently lives in Lake Villa and enjoys taking his motorcycle out whenever he can.
