Mariani Case Study

This project, designed by the team at Mariani Landscape, required a mix of Eden limestone paving, Pennsylvania fieldstone veneer, and reclaimed old street pavers. Teamwork and cooperation were key to this project when coordinating our work with the pool contractor, the landscape lighting contractor, the landscape audio contractor, as well as the carpenter, asphalt contractor, and landscape crews themselves. A project of this scale and magnitude requires a very close working relationship with the onsite project manager, the design staff and client, who was an interior designer herself. Change orders were daily as the project continued to evolve over the course of a few years. The end result was nothing short of extraordinary in creating one of the largest and most intricate compounds on the lake.

Project Overview

Designed with a ‘Cape Cod’ style in mind, this project features Pennsylvania field stone landscape walls and columns with a ‘raked back’ minimal joint approach to create that old world, stack stone feel, with a natural stone coping. Each stone is hand tooled to fit within the wall like a jigsaw puzzle, which is what creates the timeless beauty in a project like this. It is a perfect example of the artistic touch required to perform old world stone masonry. Also featured on this site are the use of old street pavers implemented both in the walkways as well as on-end as the curbing for the driveway. Eden limestone dimensional pavers are used for the seating areas and pool deck, both to provide a smooth surface for furniture placement and to reduce heat on those long summer days.
